Welding

Students learn various types of welding and cutting operations, fabrications, quality control, welding testing, and blueprint reading. This course focuses on advanced SMAW open roots, GMAW & FCAW processes, Introduction to GTAW (TIG), fabrication techniques, and career exploration. AWS qualification testing with CWI. Prerequisite: Intermediate Welding or Approval from Instructor before registering. 

Introduction to Welding In this course, students will learn various types of welding and cutting operations, fabrication techniques, quality control practices, welding testing, and blueprint reading. Emphasizing shop safety, the curriculum covers oxy-fuel cutting, an introduction to Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) processes. Students will also explore blueprint reading, welding symbols, and career exploration opportunities. The program includes AWS qualification testing for the Certified Welder (CW) credential.

Program Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid State ID or Driver’s License
• Attendance and participation in all practical training modules
• Adherence to all safety procedures and instructor guidance
• Complete all required documents in the student portal
• Tuition must be paid in full before class starts (payment plans available until class begins)

Building on foundational skills, this program offers students an in-depth exploration of advanced welding techniques and processes. Participants will enhance their proficiency in GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW, while also learning specialized skills in areas such as pipe welding, TIG welding, and metallurgy. Emphasis will be placed on quality control, welding inspection, and complex blueprint reading. Students will engage in hands-on projects to develop their abilities and prepare for AWS qualification testing for various certifications, equipping them for advanced career opportunities in the welding industry.
