Penta Career Center’s Nail Technician Program provides students with a comprehensive education in the art and science of nail care. Through hands-on training, theory, and real-world experience, students learn manicuring, pedicuring, acrylics, gel nails, nail art, and advanced techniques. The program also covers infection control, anatomy, chemistry, electricity, and salon business practices to ensure graduates are fully prepared for professional success.
Upon completing 200 hours of training, students are eligible to apply for licensure through the Ohio State Cosmetology and Barber Board and take the state licensure exam (written and practical). Graduates are ready for immediate employment in salons, spas, or as independent nail professionals.
Program Schedule
200 Hours
Monday–Thursday | 5:00–9:00 p.m.
Two Saturdays per month | 8:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

Career Preparation & Licensure
Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to sit for the Manicurist License exam through the Ohio State Cosmetology and Barber Board.
State Board Exam Details:
- Testing is conducted in Grove City, Ohio
- Students are responsible for transportation and accommodations
- Testing begins at 8:00 AM; punctuality is required
Enrollment Requirements
To enroll in the Nail Technician Program, students must:
- Complete online registration and submit the $500 non-refundable registration fee. This fee covers your student kit and books and is separate from and not applied toward tuition.
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Provide an unexpired Driver’s License or State ID
- Submit proof of high school completion (High School Diploma, official transcript, or HSE/GED transcript)

- Pay tuition in full before classes start
Important Note: This program is not eligible for financial aid. All funding must be secured by the student before enrolling.
Program Expectations
- Students must provide plain black scrubs for class and lab
- Shoes must be solid black with rubber soles
- Adherence to safety, dress code, and attendance policies is required
- Complete all required hours, coursework, and evaluations with a minimum score of 75%
